About Me
I’m Amy Ballard, LPC, LCPC, SEP, a licensed therapist and somatic experiencing practitioner offering LGBTQ-affirming online therapy for trauma, anxiety, and relationships in Arkansas, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Drawing on somatic and evidence-based approaches, I help clients heal from past experiences, feel more grounded, and build a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
A native Arkansan, I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 2003. Over the years, my work has included roles in inpatient and outpatient programs, hospital settings, and organizational development.
Through this experience, I’ve found that many of the challenges people face—whether it’s anxiety, depression, difficulty in relationships, or struggles with self-esteem—are often rooted in past stress or trauma. This understanding led me to pursue advanced training in Somatic Experiencing® (SEP), a body-based trauma treatment approach that helps people heal from the effects of overwhelming experiences. I completed this training in 2022.
Today, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, LCPC, SEP) in Arkansas, Illinois, and Wisconsin, where I provide online therapy to individuals and couples seeking relief from trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and LGBTQ-affirming, blending somatic and evidence-based methods to help clients build resilience and lasting change.
Outside of my work, I love making art, tackling home projects, and spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, biking, or exploring with my golden retriever, Louie. I enjoy time with my partner, family, and friends, and split my life between Chicago and Little Rock, staying connected to two places I love.
